A little bit about Fledge & Thread:

"Fledge & Thread began in the quiet moments of early motherhood - when the house was still, and our little girl, just four months old, drifted off to sleep. It was during those nights, that I picked up my paintbrush, searching for the perfect soft furnishings to bring warmth and nostalgia to our children’s rooms as we renovated their spaces.

What started as hand-painted designs for their walls soon grew into something more. We launched Fledge & Thread with homewares, but the pull of childhood - the kind we were brought up on - led us to expand into children’s apparel and bedding."

Fledge & Threads designs are hand-painted, filled with whimsical creatures that tell tales of simpler times, weaving nostalgia into every brushstroke. With soft, calming tones, our collections create a soothing environment, designed to comfort, inspire, and be treasured for years to come.

Meet the Founder:

Keren Elizabeth Fraser is the Founder and Creative director at Fledge and Thread. Originally from South Africa, she spent her childhood in the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand. She studied at the Elam School of Fine Arts and later moved to Perth, Australia, to complete her design studies.

After graduating, Keren ventured into the retail world, working for some large, innovative companies. In 2021, during her maternity leave, she rediscovered her love for painting and started creating patterns and original pieces for her home that she couldn't find anywhere. Today, Fledge and Thread has grown into having retail partners throughout Australia and New Zealand, we design Baby and Childrens apparel, bedding, accessories and more.

With a deep appreciation for the old masters—instilled in her by her mother, an ancient history teacher—Keren’s work has a nostalgic, vintage feel. She captures the beauty in life’s simple moments—a tiny field mouse, a single flower, or a bunny in a meadow. Her designs aim to transport you to a different time and bring a sense of memory and story back into homes.

Keren lives in Perth with her husband, Mathew, and their two little ones. When she’s not painting in her cozy studio at home, she can be found designing products and packing orders for our wonderful customers.
